Tom MitchellTom Mitchell

President & CEO

As president and CEO of Open Options, Tom Mitchell is responsible for defining strategic direction and identifying new market applications for Open Options' proprietary game theory software technology.

Tom's early career with Imperial Oil focused on the economic and engineering aspects of real-time process control. From 1988 to 1990, he was based in London, England with IBM Europe, providing marketing guidance to IBM teams throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Subsequently, Tom has held executive positions in several technology firms, including the successful IPO of DALSA Corporation. He then assumed the role of acting president of CTTAN, an organization focused on brokering strategic advice and venture capital to early stage, fast growth companies.

Tom holds a B.Sc. in Engineering-Physics, and is a graduate of the Executive Marketing Program at the Ivey Business School - University of Western Ontario. He has served on the Board of the Automated Imaging Association, and is a past Senior Member of ISA International.

Niall FraserNiall Fraser

Founder & Principal Scientist

As founder of Open Options Corporation, Niall Fraser's research work formed the basis of the strategic software technology developed by the firm. As principal scientist, Niall is also responsible for the ongoing technical development of the Open Options software and for managing key client applications, including a wide range of manufacturing and service companies around the world as well as Canadian military and federal government organizations, US intelligence and military agencies, and international research firms.

Prior to founding Open Options, Niall was a professor at the University of Waterloo in the department of management sciences. During that time, his academic research interests included conflict analysis, multiple criteria decision making, game theory, bargaining and negotiation, and compliance verification.

Niall holds a Ph.D. in System Design Engineering. He is the author of four books and has also written more than 150 academic publications appearing in journals such as Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis, European Journal of Operations Research, Interfaces, Theory and Decision, and Group Decision and Negotiation.

Kevin O'Connor

Kevin O'Connor

Strategy Analyst

As a strategy analyst at Open Options, Kevin O'Connor is responsible for applying Open Options' game theory based methodology to solve clients' complex strategy issues. He is also responsible for software development work that advances Open Options' game theory technology.

Previously, Kevin worked as a Business and Network Planner at Nortel Networks where he developed complex telecom business planning tools, analyzed new product and service opportunities, and acted as a market entry consultant. Kevin has also worked for several medium sized software firms.

Kevin graduated with the top GPA in Commerce from Carleton University. He also holds a MASc. in Applied Mathematical Modeling from the University of Waterloo. His research interests include simulation, supply chain integration and mathematical programming.

Mike McGlogan

Mike McGlogan

Strategy Consultant

As a Strategy Consultant at Open Options, Mike McGlogan is responsible for client business development. He also participates in facilitating the Open Options game theory process at client sites and interpreting game theory results into practical action plans.

Prior to joining Open Options, Mike had an interesting and varied career. He served as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, followed by 10 years of work as a senior executive responsible for trading bonds and treasury bills for several international brokerage firms. During the last 5 years, Mike represented security software firms Intellitactics and BindView Development. At both these organizations, he was responsible for managing their Canadian sales operations, selling Enterprise Security Management software to large government and corporate enterprises.

Mike is a graduate of the Wilfrid Laurier School of Business and Economics and has taken numerous military, investment and information technology related courses.

Michael Phillips

Strategy Consultant

As a Strategy Consultant at Open Options, Michael Phillips is responsible for client relationships, on-site project facilitation and the creation of strategic action plans. Michael's primary area of responsibility involves managing Open Options business interests on the US West Coast and Europe. Michael is also a frequent guest keynote speaker at a variety of strategy conferences.

Michael has a number of years of senior management experience in several distinct industry verticals. He has extensive experience in new market development managing the introduction of a variety of products and solutions to various industry leaders in Pulp & Paper, Forest Products, Mining, Oil & Gas, Automotive and Chemical industries. Michael's background also includes country manager experience for a global executive development company.

Michael is a graduate of the University of Toronto and holds a MBA from Henley Management College (UK). He has received extensive training in executive program delivery and facilitation.

Mark Greco

Strategy Analyst

As a Strategy Analyst at Open Options, Mark Greco is responsible for applying Open Options' game theory methodology to solve multi-player corporate strategy issues. He is also responsible for software development work and business operations.

Prior to Open Options, Mark worked in the automotive manufacturing industry. His background includes quality control engineering, logistical improvement, and product development at Toyota, Magna International, and Algonquin Automotive. Additionally, Mark was a key team member on the University of Waterloo Alterative Fuels Team during Challenge X where a group of students designed, developed, and promoted their hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.

Mark holds both a BASc. in Systems Design Engineering and a MMSc. in Applied Optimization from the University of Waterloo.

Todd Press

Strategy Consultant

As a Strategy Consultant at Open Options, Todd Press is responsible for strategy consulting services and client relationships in southern US, Japan, and Asia. He also provides project management and onsite facilitation in support of Open Options' engagements.

Todd has over 20 years of experience delivering business solutions to international Service Providers and FORTUNE 500 accounts in the telecommunications and technology sectors. He also has extensive experience in strategic planning with a focus on competitiveness, innovation and business performance.

Todd is a graduate of York University and has completed Executive Development programs at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and at the University of Toronto, as well as corporate training programs at Xerox, Sprint International and Lucent Technologies.

George Coppus

Founder & CEO - CCSI

George Coppus is founding partner and CEO of CCS Incite Inc., a consulting group working in association with Open Options.

Before going into private practice, George was the vice president of human resources and business systems for a large energy company, focusing on marketing and e-business strategy. There, his position focused on performance and change management, organizational effectiveness, performance management, and leadership development.

His early career at oil, gas, and chemicals companies included management roles in manufacturing, strategic planning, marketing and human resources. Highlights include working as a Technical Manager in an award-winning manufacturing site, leading the ISO certification process in one of the world's largest polyethylene manufacturing plants, and designing project and portfolio management processes.

George's success in resolving business issues using systems dynamics and complexity theory has been featured in Canadian Business Magazine.

Christine Clarke

Founder & CFO - CSSI

As a founding partner and CFO of CCS Incite Inc., Christine Clarke has more than 15 years experience in senior advisory roles in the energy industry and specializes in strategy development, strategic portfolio management and strategic decision making. Recently, she co-led the e-business strategy development at a major pipeline company and directed the design of the strategic portfolio process for innovative products and new business ventures.

As senior strategy advisor, Christine facilitated the development of the post-merger strategy for North America's two largest pipeline companies. She has worked on complex strategic issues involving competitive strategy, divestiture, deregulation and new product and service development, using a blend of techniques such as game theory, decision analysis, system dynamics and process facilitation. During Christine's appointment to a team responsible for introducing and implementing a new approach to decision making, her contribution resulted in a decision making methodology that continues to be used by the company today.

Christine holds a B.Comm. in Finance from the University of British Columbia and a CMA designation.

Lynn Sveinson

Founder & COO - CCSI

Lynn Sveinson is a founding partner and COO of CCS Incite Inc. and is responsible for overseeing operations. She has more than 20 years experience in the pipeline and natural gas industry and has held various senior advisor and strategy development positions for a large energy company.

Most recently, Lynn focused on developing an e-business strategy. Prior to that she had responsibility for organizational effectiveness and various leadership and advisory capacities in information services and business strategies.

Previously, Lynn co-lead e-business strategy development, played a key role in the development of a human capital plan aligned with business strategy, and facilitated the development of growth strategies, strategic objectives and action plans by introducing and utilizing new technologies/methodologies, such as system thinking, game theory, and future search conferences. She has also played key roles in reengineering and change management efforts.

Lynn holds a BSc and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary.
